THE OVERVIEW
Building Discovery Around Suspense, Curiosity & Audience Conversation
Demise is a psychological thriller written and directed by Yara Estrada Lowe.
The film follows a seemingly ordinary marriage as it unravels into a dangerous web of obsession, betrayal, deception, and revenge—creating a story where trust quickly becomes a weapon.
As the film prepared for its digital release, the campaign faced a familiar challenge for independent films:
How do you make an audience curious about a story they have never heard of when thousands of other titles are competing for the same attention?
The campaign needed to introduce the film quickly, establish its psychological-thriller identity, create curiosity without revealing too much of the plot, and sustain engagement beyond the initial launch.
At the same time, the film had several distinct audience opportunities:
- Psychological thriller fans
- Independent film audiences
- Latino film communities
- Supporters of women filmmakers
- Viewers drawn to relationship-driven suspense and revenge stories
The strategy needed to bring those audiences together under one recognizable campaign identity.

THE CHALLENGE
Creating Curiosity Without Giving Away the Story
Thrillers thrive on intrigue, suspense, and word-of-mouth. For independent films, generating that momentum before audiences know the story can be one of the biggest challenges.
Demise entered a crowded digital entertainment landscape where audiences had nearly unlimited viewing options. The campaign therefore had to capture attention quickly while preserving enough mystery to create a reason to keep watching, clicking, commenting, and ultimately seeking out the film.
That meant balancing two competing goals:
Give audiences enough information to care, but not enough information to remove the suspense.
At the same time, the campaign needed to appeal to several audience communities without creating fragmented messaging.
The film had to feel relevant to thriller audiences, independent film viewers, Latino communities, and supporters of women-led filmmaking while maintaining a consistent identity across every platform. The challenge was not simply generating reach. It was creating enough intrigue to turn that reach into active discovery.
OUR SOLUTIONS
Making Suspense the Campaign’s Strongest Marketing Asset
Our strategy focused on the film’s strongest asset: suspense.
Rather than revealing too much of the story, we built the campaign around curiosity, emotional tension, and character-driven storytelling. Through carefully selected scene clips, trailers, cast content, behind-the-scenes footage, interviews, reviews, and custom creative assets, we created a content ecosystem designed to keep audiences engaged while encouraging them to learn more about the film.
Social media became the foundation of the campaign. We developed a consistent content strategy across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube, combining organic content, community engagement, profile optimization, and audience interaction to build visibility throughout the release cycle. Every asset was designed to reinforce the film’s identity while creating opportunities for discovery and conversation.
To expand awareness beyond the film’s owned channels, we activated a large grassroots network of creators, film communities, influencers, cast members, industry advocates, and entertainment-focused accounts. These partnerships helped introduce Demise to highly engaged audiences already interested in independent cinema, thrillers, and women-led storytelling.
Paid media further amplified the campaign through targeted Facebook and Instagram advertising focused on streaming audiences and movie enthusiasts. By combining strategic audience targeting with high-performing creative, the campaign consistently generated strong click-through rates while driving traffic directly to viewing platforms and release information.

THE RESULTS
Turning Audience Curiosity Into Measurable Action
Demise successfully transformed audience curiosity into meaningful engagement across social media, grassroots outreach, and paid media channels.
Throughout the campaign, social platforms became active hubs for audience discovery and conversation. Consistent content, community engagement, cast participation, and strategic storytelling helped build awareness around the film while growing an engaged audience interested in both the story and the filmmaker behind it.
Grassroots partnerships significantly expanded the campaign’s reach beyond owned channels. Collaborations with film communities, creators, industry advocates, and entertainment accounts introduced the film to new audiences while helping establish credibility through trusted voices and authentic recommendations. The result was a highly collaborative campaign that generated ongoing visibility before, during, and after release.
Paid media played an important role in accelerating awareness and audience action. Strategic campaigns consistently delivered strong click-through rates and efficient cost-per-click performance, helping drive traffic and engagement while supporting the film’s streaming release.
Most importantly, the campaign helped position Demise as more than just another digital release. Through a combination of compelling storytelling, audience engagement, creator partnerships, and targeted promotion, the film built a strong online presence and an active community that continued supporting the project beyond launch.
